  • What is a UAS?

    A UAS is an 'Unmanned Aerial System', more commonly referred to as a drone.

  • Can anyone pilot a drone?

    Yes!  In the United States, any person can pilot a recreational drone so long as the drone weighs under 250 grams, and is not flown over people or populated areas.  Only commercial uses require a certified UAS pilot.  Commercial use is defined as any use other than purely recreational in nature.

  • Do drone pilots need certification?

    Yes!  In the United States, any commercial use of an unmanned areial system requires a Part 107 FAA UAS (drone) Pliot Cetification.   Commercial use is defined as any use other than purely recreational in nature.

  • Do I need a certified drone pilot for my event or project?

    A certified UAS pilot is required for any commercial use.  Commercial use is defined as any use other than purely recreational in nature.
